HERE WE GO...FINALLY!

Introducing McQuade Terry Hardy
Born May 8, 2009
1:57am
7 lb 14 oz
19.5 in
Here we are doing the waiting thing. Trying to hold off for Cory to fly in. I went into the hospital at about 4:30 having contractions 2-3 minutes apart. I called Cory to catch the next flight out, which wouldn't get him here until about midnight. So we were trying to hold on until then. Kim and Cindy were definitely keeping me company. They kept me entertained with blowing up glove balloons, playing Phase 10, having rolling chair races, setting off their car alarms outside to scare people... and more! At about 11:45pm Cory walked in! At 12:12am they sat me up to give me my epidural and my water broke everywhere. Then contractions starting coming HARD!! I went from a 7 to a 9 in 5 minutes. They prepped the room and told me to start pushing. Only 2 contractions and 6 pushes all in 5 minutes Baby McQuade was born. It was such a different experience then my last time. I was so coherent and everything went so fast I couldn't believe it. Poor little thing got a bruised face from coming down so fast.

Mason was so excited to come see the baby. He was so disappointed when he walked in and the baby wasn't in the room. He was so excited to see his daddy when he went to pick him up at my sister's house.
We've had many friends and family come to visit!
My mom and sister were so excited to give him his first bath. Since Cory is back in Washington until June my mom came to stay with me for a week off her mission.
Pictures of McQuade throughout his first week of life. He is such a sweet little boy. He sleeps through everything! Baths, toe pricks in the hospital, his big brother Mason, and even his circumcision!! Yeah. I was shocked when the doctor told me that. His blood sugar even started to drop because he would never wake up to eat - we used cold hands, cold wipes on his body - he wasn't gonna get up for anything. Now he wakes up just enough to eat and he is back out again. He's even doing well at night time!
I thought this was funny with his ultrasound picture he is sucking on his hand and seeing him do it in real life was so cute to me Ü

Thank you to all friends and family for their help and support! Especially while Cory is gone! I could NOT have done it without you!

He is such a beautiful baby Gina! I wish Martha would have told me she was taking that picture, I look like I'm scowling at your little boy!

I hope things are slowly returning to normal and that you stayed in your jammies all week long...love you!
